Paper and Linerboard
Longview Fibre manufactures more than 70 unique grades for use by a wide variety of customers to make many different products. These products range from common corrugated containers (often referred to as "cardboard boxes") to highly specialized multi-layered packaging products made by coating and treating the paper provided by Longview Fibre.
Longview Fibre manufactures both Linerboard and Corrugating Medium. These products are used to produce many packaging products.
The grades of paper are best described as natural kraft paper. Longview Fibre has a basis weight capability range from 24 pounds to 70 pounds per three thousand square feet. Many of the grades are considered as common standards in the paper industry. Examples are wrapping papers, converting papers, bag papers, and multiwall sack paper.
Many specialty grades are manufactured at the mill. Specialty papers are made for many different converters, which include laminators, coaters, insulation manufacturers, agricultural product manufacturers, and a variety of product packaging producers for food products. These specialty grades are designed to meet the unique needs of these many varied converting applications.
