AF&PA Elects Nebel to Board of Directors
LONGVIEW, Wash., Oct. 23, 2009 — Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. today announced that the American Forest and Paper Association has elected company President Randy Nebel to its board of directors. AF&PA is the national trade association of the forest, paper and wood products industry.
"I am pleased to join the board and look forward to serving the industry in this capacity," Nebel said. "I will work with the AF&PA to continue its mission of advancing public policies that promote a strong and sustainable U.S. forest products industry in the global marketplace."
Nebel, who has 31 years experience in the paper and packaging industry, has made significant leadership contributions to the transformation of Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. He has worked at notable organizations such as Weyerhaeuser, Georgia Pacific and James River before joining Longview Fibre in January 2008. His experience in the paper industry includes tissue, newsprint, light-weight medium, bleached board, kraft paper, containerboard and pulp. In addition, Nebel has deep experience in turning around mill performance and has led several initiatives relating to strategic procurement, large-scale systems implementations, strategic planning and due diligence for major acquisitions. He holds a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from Montana State University.
Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. produces light-weight, multiwall and complimentary specialty kraft papers for an established domestic and global customer base. The company also produces containerboard and corrugated boxes for domestic customers.
